Welcome to Trinity United Methodist Church—where faith, community, and hope come alive.
For more than a century, Trinity has been a place where people gather to worship God, grow as disciples, and serve our city with compassion. We believe every person is created in God’s image, called to love, and invited into a life-changing relationship with Christ.
Whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning after some time away, we pray you feel the warmth of this church family. Here, you’ll find meaningful worship, ministries for all ages, opportunities to grow, and a community that walks together through every season of life.
We’re glad you’re here—and we can’t wait to meet you.
Trinity United Methodist Church has been part of the Wichita Falls community for more than a century. Our story begins in November 1910, when the Annual Conference approved the opening of a new Methodist mission in the city and appointed Rev. C. Bunse as the first pastor. With just sixteen charter members, the congregation purchased property and began to build the foundations of what we now know as Trinity UMC.
In the early months—from April through November of 1911—the first Trinity members worshiped in a simple 20 x 35 ft. tent while their new sanctuary took shape. On November 26, 1911, the completed frame building was dedicated by Rev. J. Wellner, D.S., with assistance from Rev. Bunse, Rev. C. F. Mayer, and F. J. Schafer. The original structure cost $2,200—a remarkable accomplishment for a young congregation.
As the church grew, so did its ministry needs. In 1926, an annex was added under the leadership of Rev. F. Doege, costing $1,800. Later, under Rev. H. C. Hoesch, membership in both Sunday School and worship flourished, and the congregation began dreaming of a more permanent and spacious church home.
That vision continued across generations. In March 1990, Trinity purchased the land at 5800 Southwest Parkway, where we are located today. Construction began in 1991–1992, and by January 1993, the new church building was completed and the original property sold.
As Trinity looked toward the future, two major hopes emerged:
A welcoming space for youth and young adults to gather and grow, and
A permanent sanctuary that would anchor the future of the church.
The first dream became reality in 2004, with the construction of the Ministry Activity Center (M.A.C.), a hub for fellowship, community outreach, and youth ministry. The second dream—the creation of a permanent sanctuary—is a vision we still carry faithfully today.
For over 115 years, Trinity UMC has been shaped by people who believed in God’s call, invested in their community, and worked together to build a place where Christ’s love could flourish. As members of faith, we continue that journey today. We invite you to join us as we move toward our goals, deepen our discipleship, and grow closer to God—just as generations before us have done.
